Whale Shark Diving

We believe every responsible diver should refrain from diving with caged whale sharks in Okinawa!

  • Whale sharks are an endangered species
  • Whale sharks are not fed adequately
  • Sharp corals growing on the netted cage, injuring the whale sharks every day
  • Recreational divers are not trained to dive overhead environments
  • Operator is not associated with the aquarium or any other scientific research project in Okinawa
