Wreck diving can be one of the most exciting aspects of sport diving, however every effort must be made to maximize safe diving techniques. The SDI Wreck Diver Course will discuss the equipment and techniques commonly employed while wreck diving. This course will include 2 dives and be taught as a non-penetration course.

There will be a strong focus on planning your dive, procedures to follow and techniques to use when a dive has limited visibility. It also covers everything from preparing and using lights, managing air supplies, special equipment as well as the use of penetration lines and reels. You will learn to plan detailed emergency procedures and basic handling of emergency oxygen. All this to prepare you for exploring sunken ships, airplanes and even cars!

Course Duration: 1 Day - 2 Ocean Dives at the wreck of the Uss Emmons in Okinawa.

Please Note:
If you have not been diving recently or have no experience of diving deep course duration maybe longer.
Class Size: 1-4 Students per Instructor
What's included: E-Learning, Certification Card,
Dive Gear and 2 Ocean Dives
Prerequisites: SDI Open Water Scuba Diver, or equivalent with a minimum of 30 dives experience.

Divers must have a deep diver specialty certification or be able to provide proof of experience in order to dive deeper than 18 metres/60 feet in this course. The top of the wreck of the Uss Emmons is at 36m/120 feet.

Minimum age is 18, 15 with parental consent. At Piranha Divers we prefer that children and teenagers under the age of 16 are joined by a parent or legal guardian.

Must be able to answer “No” to all questions on the medical statement.

Please Note:

  1. The course will typically start at 9:00AM at the dive shop and finish at approximately 4:30PM each day. Please plan accordingly.
  2. All students must be comfortable divers already before starting the course. Experience of 20-30 dives is desirable.
  3. Training is offered in English, while online training materials are available in many languages, participants are required to communicate in English.
  4. Training is purchased, certification is earned, no refunds will be given if you cannot meet the training requirements.
  5. Don't fly within 18-24 hours of your last dive, please take this into consideration when scheduling your training.
