Japan is justifiably famous for its extensive, well-organized and efficient transportation network. However, this does not necessarily apply when traveling in Okinawa. So, to make our divers’ time here as hassle-free as possible, we usually recommend they stay in one of the many hotels or Guesthouses near by.
From Naha Airport you can take the airport-shuttle bus, and buy your ticket directly in the bus. Get off at ‘Halekulani Okinawa Mae’ and walk 3 minutes to the diveshop.
You can also take the Airport Limousine bus, and buy your ticket at all major resort hotels or the information counter at the airport. Get off at ‘Kariyushi Beach Resort’ and we happily arrange a pick up from the bus stop.
Please keep in mind that these buses run less frequently (depending on the season) but are faster and more comfortable. To arrange pick up from the bus stop please let us know your scheduled arrival time.
If your plane arrives after 8pm at Naha Airport you won't be able to catch a bus anymore. We are happy to arrange a pick up from the airport for you. To organize this option simply write your pickup request, flight number, arrival time into your dive booking. The drive from the Airport takes about 90 minutes. Prices vary depending on the amount of passengers we take and if it's a one way or two way trip. Please check the current rates for the pick up fee, and enjoy more time in the water and less time on the road.
There are a number of rental car companies in Okinawa, which is by far the best way to get around the island. Please make sure that your driver’s license/international driver’s license is actually valid in Japan. (Please Note: Belgium, France, Germany, Monaco, Slovenia, Switzerland and Taiwan do not issue permits based on the 1949 Geneva Convention. If you’re from one of these countries you should get a translation from the Japan Automobile Federation)
From Naha Airport you can take the bus, numbers 20 or 120, to ‘Imbu Kibougaoka’, where you need to get off. Local buses run daily from about 6am to 8pm. Please check the timetable for details. You also can get around with a taxi, although this is quite expensive and taxi drivers most of the time don't know the location well. Some companies offer a flat fee for a half or full day use.
